Most of us spend more time outdoors in summer. We play more sports, eat healthier, and care for our sun-stressed skin. But do you do anything for your feet in the summer too?
In this article, I’ll give you a few tips that you can easily incorporate into your foot care during the summer. And what’s great, it will take you no extra time.
If you want to make sure you put my tips into practice, I invite you to join the Treat Your Feet consciously summer challenge that’s going on right now this summer in the Sewing Barefoot Shoes DIY Facebook group.
As part of the challenge, we’ll be breaking down each tip in more depth and sharing how we’re getting on with incorporating them into our daily practice. From my own experience, I’ll certainly give you advice on what works for me and my family.
Now let’s get to it:
Is this challenge suitable for you?
If your feet are healthy and you want to bring them more to life, definitely yes. If you are bothered by incipient deformities or foot pain, join in too. With musculoskeletal problems – joints, tendons, arches, etc., you can participate as much as your body will allow.
However, there is one contraindication to barefoot walking: if you have diabetic neuropathy or any impairment in the sensation of your feet (for nerve or vascular diseases), consult your doctor for any challenge tips. However, with caution, many of them can be applied. Instead of walking barefoot, choose barefoot shoes or compromise shoes with plenty of room for your toes and no arch support.
Will you be going into the summer challenge alone or joining us in the Facebook group?
I look forward to seeing you,
